Longie-style wool cover, sewn with double layer of very absorbent and comfortable merino wool.
Handmade by an Estonian mother, so each pair of trousers / cover is unique and reversible (can be worn on both sides).
Wool longies are used as the waterproof layer of the nappy, and can be worn as a cover or as a piece of clothing, replacing pyjamas or trousers. They are beautiful, practical and very comfortable.
Wool covers are the best option as a nappy cover for those who value comfort and are looking for a perfect leak-free fit. They are also an excellent solution for nighttime when using bulkier nappies.
Wool covers are very soft, breathable, and thermoregulating, making them suitable for use at any time of the year.
They perfectly cover any reusable nappy, including fitted nappies, flat/pre-folded nappies, or pocket nappies. For those who use disposable nappies but experience leaks, this is also a valid option.
The wool of these longies is high quality and dense. There are slight differences in colours and grammage:
Mustard yellow: 470gsm
Old rose: 500gsm
Electric blue, fuchsia pink: 510gsm
Grey: 520gsm
Composition: 99% Merino wool; 1% elastane.
Size:
S: 4-8.5 kg
M: 8-12.5 Kg
L: + 12kg
When lanolised, the longies can be used as a cover directly over the nappy. Without lanolin, they are ideal for use as trousers, ideally on colder days. However, wool is a valuable material because it is thermoregulating and can be used in both hot and cold climates.
Care:
Wash and rinse at a temperature up to 30 degrees. After washing, line the trousers with lanolin. The trousers should be lanolised first inside out, and the first lanolisation can be done with a stronger solution. If the recipe is 1 teaspoon of lanolin and 1 teaspoon of soap per 1 L of water, then the first time you use lanolin, make a stronger solution, increase the amount of lanolin and soap and/or reduce the amount of liquid, depending on how the trousers fit in the container where they will soak.
Leave the lanolin for 1-2 hours and then rinse once in running water, squeeze out excess water, do not twist, and spread on a sauna towel, roll the sauna towel and step on it to squeeze out excess water. Place on a flat surface to dry.
Note! All trousers should be washed separately or in another container with the lanolin mixture, because fabrics can transfer colours when they are in water. Mixing colours during washing is not recommended.
